An abridged version of the dissertation was published under the title "Why Small Parties Fail: A Case Study of ACT New Zealand" in Political Science (New Zealand), vol. 59, no. 2 (December 2007), pp. 79-96, available in print from New Zealand university libraries and online via SAGE publications (abstract free to all, fulltext accessible via most academic site licences).
An article analysing the implications of the return of Sir Roger Douglas to ACT by this blog's author was published in the New Zealand Herald in March 2008.
From Douglas to Dancing was highly commended in the tertiary student research section of the Electoral Commission's 2008 Wallace Awards (PDF, 2008 Electoral Commission Annual Report - see p. 17). "[C]learly written and structured...[a]n interesting addition to the literature on smaller parties in New Zealand" - judges' comments.
